- DS Performance will continue the Young Driver Programme in 2025
As part of the programme that Stellantis Motorsport has put in place to help a young driver to prepare for the most challenging levels of motorsport, Nico Pino joined the competition arm of DS Automobiles in April 2024.
The DS Performance programme dedicated to Nico Pino ran from April through to November 2024 and was based on eight test days in the DS E-TENSE FE21 (Formula generation 2), concluding with a final test in the DS E-TENSE FE25 currently driven by Jean-Eric Vergne and Maximilian Günther in Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
The 20-year-old Chilean – who also competes in the LMP2 and GT categories – put in an excellent performance at the wheel of the DS E-TENSE FE25 and was able to deliver some useful feedback to the DS Performance team.
The motorsport division of DS Automobiles is already putting in place the young driver programme for 2025 and would be delighted to continue this adventure with Nico Pino.
Nico Pino, Young Driver Programme driver:
“It was a great experience working with the entire DS Performance team during all these sessions and had very good feelings behind the wheel of the DS E-TENSE FE25. The new tires and four-wheel drive made the Gen3 Evo clearly much faster and efficient! I’m with great motivation and additional knowledge that will be very useful for me and I’m already looking forward to the future. »
Eugenio Franzetti, DS Performance Director:
“The DS Performance team was delighted to launch its young driver programme with Nico Pino this year. Nico was hard-working and determined and showed us plenty of potential at the wheel of our cars, especially in the DS E-TENSE FE25. This programme is an excellent environment to train young drivers and we would be delighted to continue it with Nico in 2025.”
