SPIRIT OF THE AVANT-GARDE
Heightened visual identity and status
N°4 asserts itself through a completely redesigned, flatter front end, where technology and elegance are reflected through a confident design. The new black grille, much wider and crafted with great attention to detail, houses a distinctive light signature inspired by the DS E-TENSE PERFORMANCE concept car and the Brand’s most recent design: N°8. The light beam stretches from the ends of the bumper to converge in segments towards the illuminated DS logo in the centre, giving N°4 a unique presence and an interesting look.
The impression of width is helped by a bonnet extended by 12 mm, which subtly covers the upper part of the grille. This grille is made from a mass-dyed black material, with an ultra-resistant varnish finish applied to it. A technique that permanently protects its shine as well as its condition. This new front with its spectacular light signature will feature on the entire range, regardless of the drivetrain or specification.

Athletic shape and sculpted surfaces
With a length of 4.40 m, a width of 1.87 m and a height of 1.47 m, DS N°4 has unique proportions, embodying dynamism and elegance.
Its profile combines fluidity and tension with muscular lines that give it a unique poise. The flush-fitting door handles blend perfectly with the shaped sides, emphasising the purity of the design.
Planted on large diameter wheels (720 mm), N°4 naturally imposes its status and heightens its visual impact. Its unique body-to-wheel ratio in the premium compact hatchback segment give it a racy, athletic and efficient shape. As standard, all powertrains come with 19-inch wheels, while an exclusive offering mounted on 20-inch wheels is available as an option on the PLUG-IN HYBRID version.
N°4 also stands out with the slender bodyshell.
Its floating roof, available in a contrasting black colour, accentuates the flow of the lines and extends towards the rear, giving the whole thing a dynamic poise.
A chrome strip emphasises the design of the glass area in a refined way by precisely following the curvature of the bodywork.
The roof, taut and lowered, stretches to the sloping rear window, reinforcing the aerodynamic look of N°4.
The sculpted rear wings reveal assertive musculature, combining subtle curves and sharp edges. This architecture highlights the rear quarter pillars, enhanced by an elegant glossy black tip, underlined by the DS Automobiles signature. A distinctive detail that is part of a world of sophistication and attention to detail.
At the rear, DS Automobiles’ designers have created a new light signature, where elegance meets technology.
The 100% LED tail lights incorporate a new “Dark Chrome” cover, enhanced by the laser-engraved relief of scales, which capture the light to create a stunning visual effect. These lights are connected by a dark strip with a gloss black finish, emphasising the impression of width.
Just above the model name, the Brand’s new identity is declared with the DS Automobiles lettering. A strong signature that makes it possible to identify N°4 instantly, even from a distance.
No-compromise 100% electrified offering
From launch, N°4 will offer a new and fully electrified range. The only multi-energy hatchback in its segment to offer a full range of electrified powertrains, it will be available with three technologies for all purposes: self-charging hybrid, plug-in hybrid and new 100% electric version, offering a unique freedom of choice.

N°4 E-TENSE: new 100 % electric powertrain
The advent of N°4 E-TENSE marks a new step in the DS Automobiles energy transition, with a 100% electric powertrain combining a 450 km range (WLTP combined cycle) and high performance with power of 213 hp and 343 Nm of torque. Developed with state-of-the-art components, this version relies on innovative technology to deliver a no-compromise electrified driving experience.
N°4 E-TENSE comes with a battery that has a net capacity of 58.3 kWh, incorporating nickel-enriched chemistry, thus optimising energy efficiency while maintaining perfect compactness.
A new heat pump architecture and increased size of the cooling and heating components have been designed to provide better efficiency and optimised thermal comfort, meeting the demands of customers in this segment.
Another feature is that three deceleration modes are available via paddles located behind the steering wheel: D for low energy recovery, B for moderate energy recovery and B+ for increased energy recovery.
N°4 E-TENSE’s aerodynamics have also been specifically worked on: the ground clearance lowered by 10 mm and the addition of almost invisible aerodynamic elements inside the grille help to reduce drag and maximise energy efficiency.
Designed to adapt to everyday needs, N°4 E-TENSE is fitted with an 11 kW on-board charger as standard and can accept DC charging power of up to 120 kW. At a rapid-charging point, it can go from 20 to 80% charge in around 30 minutes, or recover a range of 100 km in 11 min.
N°4 PLUG-IN HYBRID: new 100% electric range of up to 81 km
DS Automobiles is also introducing a new generation of plug-in hybrid powertrain with N°4 PLUG-IN HYBRID, offering 30% better range in all-electric mode. Its drivetrain combines a 180 hp turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine and a 125 hp electric motor, integrated with a new eDCT7 dual-clutch automatic gearbox designed to optimise fuel consumption and performance.
With a combined output of 225 hp and 360 Nm of torque, the N°4 PLUG-IN HYBRID provides remarkable acceleration, notably going from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.1 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the previous generation model.
N°4 HYBRID: 145 hp for efficiency
Developing 145 hp, N°4 HYBRID combines a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor, integrated straight into the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
With 230 Nm of torque, this powertrain ensures first-rate performance while displaying limited CO₂ emissions (from 116 g/km), positioning N°4 HYBRID among the benchmarks in terms of efficiency.
DYNAMIC SERENITY
French expertise and improved technology
N°4 embodies the excellence of French expertise by taking craftsmanship to an unprecedented scale. Every detail is precisely designed, illustrating the DS Automobiles approach by elevating every journey to an art form. Inside, ergonomics and elegance merge to create a uniquely immersive experience. The atmosphere is enhanced by the Clous de Paris embossed inserts, a finish inspired by fine watchmaking. This precision work brings a touch of elegance and bolsters the sophisticated identity of the cockpit.
In front of the driver, a new 10.25-inch high-definition digital instrument cluster, inspired by graphics from N°8, has been installed for even better readability and serenity, in addition to the DS EXTENDED HEAD UP DISPLAY. In the middle of the dashboard, a second 10-inch screen allows you to navigate the DS IRIS SYSTEM infotainment system.

The pure and “seamless” finish continues with DS AIR (invisible vents), a ventilation system that is designed to be both compact and efficient. Its ultra-thin central vents, very discreetly fitted, conceal invisible fins for a sleek and harmonious look. Airflow channelled by a tapered tip ensures the best possible distribution upwards and downwards, guaranteeing precise and uniform thermal comfort.
The embodiment of the Brand’s expertise, the interior is adorned with high-quality fabrics and canvas (PALLAS specification) and also Alcantara® (ÉTOILE specification) which generously cloaks the dashboard, door panels and centre console, creating a warm and immersive atmosphere. Seats in Criollo Brown Nappa leather with watchstrap upholstery complete the offering, meeting inserts in Brown Ash wood while wide surfaces in Nappa leather cement the overall exclusive character. The pearl stitching, needlework that is exclusive to DS Automobiles and a unique signature in the automotive world, is still present.
The refinement of the interior ambience is emphasised by indirect lighting on the door panels that can be personalised, designed to enhance side features and heighten the feeling of serenity in-car. The sound experience is also taken to the next level thanks to the optional FOCAL ELECTRA® audio system. Fitted with 14 speakers and 690 Watts of power, it is combined with front (standard on the whole range) and rear acoustic side windows, ensuring incredibly pure sound reproduction.
Optimal roominess and first-class comfort
With its 2.67 m wheelbase and 1.87 m width mirrors folded, N°4 provides generous space, but also plenty of storage. Each passenger enjoys significant elbow and leg room, and comfortable headroom in both rows. The front seats, available with heating, cooling and massage functions on the leather-upholstered versions, take an exclusive approach. Made of high-density foam, they are also wraparound and have an expansive shape at seat level, combining support and extreme comfort.
N°4’s boot size is a remarkable 430 litres for the HYBRID version, 360 litres for N°4 PLUG-IN HYBRID and 390 litres for new 100% electric N°4 E-TENSE. Perfectly sized and benefiting from quite a low load lip, N°4’s boot is accessible via a tailgate that can be powered with a hands-free access function.
Driving enjoyment
Designed on the modular EMP2 platform, N°4 stands out for its ability to accommodate different powertrains while maintaining exemplary road holding and comfort. This state-of-the-art architecture incorporates advanced technical solutions, such as weld-bonding – a process combining nearly 34 metres of adhesive bead and multiple welding points – guaranteeing rigidity, accuracy and structural efficiency.
The suspension elements and steering system contribute to the benchmark driving enjoyment. The chassis has been developed with particular attention to providing unique handling, a signature of DS Automobiles expertise. The skill of Brand’s engineers has made it possible to achieve an excellent relationship between comfort and dynamism. The new 100% electric E-TENSE model, like the other versions, provides very agile and pleasing handling. Each journey becomes an experience where road holding and smoothness blend with elegance.

Always as close as possible to the driver’s expectations, with DS DRIVE ASSIST 2.0 N°4 offers a level-2 semi-autonomous driving experience through semi-automatic lane change and overtaking and advance speed recommendation by reading signposts. DS DRIVE ASSIST 2.0 has sensors that record everything that happens in and around the car to guarantee smooth and serene driving.
Coupled with this equipment, N°4 proposes the DS DRIVER ATTENTION MONITORING (DAA4): this new service continuously analyses the driver’s level of attention and fatigue using an infrared camera installed in the front pillar of the bodywork.
The DS MATRIX LED VISION headlamps also contribute to N°4’s in-car dynamic serenity. They are made up of three LED modules that adapt to traffic conditions, steering wheel angle, speed and the weather with five pre-set modes: city, countryside, motorway, poor weather and fog. They also allow you to drive constantly on main beam without ever dazzling other road users and have a range of nearly 300 metres.
N°4 also includes DS EXTENDED HEAD UP DISPLAY, a cutting-edge technology that optimises the driving experience by projecting essential information directly into the driver’s field of vision. Through an advanced optical effect, the data is displayed as if suspended four metres in front of the windscreen, on a 21-inch diagonal. This visual immersion marks a step towards augmented reality, making it possible to consult speed, driving aids, navigation, warning messages and multimedia information without ever taking your eyes off the road.
This immersive technology is part of a digital ecosystem around DS IRIS SYSTEM. A truly intelligent interface, this infotainment system adopts the seamless and intuitive ergonomics of a smartphone. Its responsive 10-inch central touchscreen is based on widget organisation, providing quick and easy-to-personalise access to different features. Every time a driver uses their car, their preferences are automatically loaded, ensuring they have a bespoke experience.
Extended connectivity
In N°4, DS IRIS SYSTEM, the infotainment system, uses SoundHound artificial intelligence, powered by the ChatGPT API. Since March 2024, when DS Automobiles became the first manufacturer in the world to include ChatGPT as standard on all its models fitted with DS IRIS SYSTEM, in countries already where standard speech recognition is already available, you just have to say “OK IRIS” to begin a seamless and natural conversation with the car, which turns into a real travel companion.
N°4 comes with the CONNECT ONE PACK, which offers a range of connected services for a period of 10 years, such as the DS digital service record, the e-coaching function and regular remote updates; these connected services provide the flexibility to better appreciate every moment behind the wheel and guarantee safety and serenity.
The DS e-Coaching feature is a widget, rolled out via OTA at the end of 2024 by DS Automobiles on its PLUG-IN HYBRID and 100% electric E-TENSE cars, with advice aimed at improving driving efficiency. A “Tip of the Day” pop-up window (which can be disabled) appears when the motor is started.
The CONNECT PLUS PACK, included in the car’s price, for a period of 3 years depending on the equipment, has extra features for the best-possible connected driving experience: the connected navigation, speech recognition with ChatGPT as well as a wide range of features (e-Remote Control, Remote Locking/Unlocking, Connected Alarm, e-Routes etc…) through the MyDS app.
From launch N°4 E-TENSE includes a suite of special connected services aimed at improving the user experience and offering simplified control of car charging and maintenance.
- In-car EV Routing, included in Connected Navigation through the Connect PLUS pack as standard for the first three years, makes it possible to plan optimised “charging stops” on long routes. On entering a destination, EV Routing calculates the road conditions and the various car data in real time to suggest and update charging stops. It shows where to stop, how long to charge, while calculating in real time the arrival time and battery energy level at the destination based on traffic, charging time and actual consumption during the journey. In addition, it allows you to set the desired battery energy level at your destination.
- The e-Routes app allows you to calculate total journey time before departure by including all the available data (traffic, number of stops etc…). It evaluates data in real time during the journey and suggests alternatives if necessary and can be viewed on N°4’s screen via the “wireless Mirror Screen” app.
- Battery preconditioning enables charging time to be optimised in cold weather by preheating the battery before stopping at a charging point. It can be triggered either via the MyDS app (at the same time as starting preconditioning in the cockpit), automatically (linked to EV Routing being activated), or manually on the central screen.
- Added to all these new features, there is the e-Remote function which controls, in addition to the battery’s state of charge and the thermal preconditioning of the cabin, an “80% charged stop” function (in the context of AC charging) in order to protect the life of the battery cells. This function is activated from the MyDS app or the central touchscreen.
- In addition, N°4 offers a V2L (Vehicle to Load) feature, which allows it to supply energy to a source outside the car, through a special adapter.
N°4 PALLAS and ÉTOILE
PALLAS and ÉTOILE come with specific equipment levels, packs and options that can be personalised to meet the most demanding expectations.
PALLAS: elegance and sophistication
The PALLAS specification provides a refined interior fitted with Diamond Tungsten Fabric and DS Black Canvas seats finished with stitching. The dashboard and door panels have basalt Black trim with a tortoiseshell effect, as well as Belem Bronze inserts for a sophisticated look overall.
The generous standard equipment includes dual-zone automatic climate control, LED headlamps and Full LED rear lights, heated and folding door mirrors, a safety pack with cruise control and adaptive speed limiter and automatic emergency braking controlled by camera and radar, front and rear parking assistance with reversing camera, acoustic laminated front side windows for optimal comfort, as well as wireless Mirror Screen via Wi-Fi.
Two packs are also offered:
- Comfort: power driver’s seat and heated front seats, acoustic and tinted rear glass and power tailgate,
- Techno: keyless entry and start, DS IRIS SYSTEM and wireless smartphone charging.
Four options are available independently of a pack: he tool-free removable tow bar, the electric sunroof, the motorized tailgate and the Perla Nera Black roof.
ÉTOILE: dynamism and sophistication
The ÉTOILE trim stands out with its seats in Alcantara® and Basalt woven fabric, enhanced with new stitching. The Alcantara® dashboard and door panels with Belem Bronze accents bring a refined atmosphere.
As standard, the ÉTOILE trim includes the DS IRIS SYSTEM infotainment system, DS MATRIX LED VISION headlamps and Full LED rear lights with scrolling indicators, the Rear Traffic Detection Pack (RCTA + LCA), power front seats, laminated and tinted rear glass, aluminium door sill protectors and pedals, the DS DRIVE ASSIST pack and the wireless smartphone charger.
Two packs are available in the ÉTOILE specification:
- Total Comfort: massaging and heated seats, heated steering wheel, power tailgate with hands-free access, sunroof, FOCAL Electra® audio system and DS EXTENDED HEAD UP DISPLAY augmented reality head-up display.
- Total Techno: DS DRIVE ASSIST 2.0, 360° panoramic vision, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, alarm and DS EXTENDED HEAD UP DISPLAY.
Four options are available independently of a pack: the tool-free removable towbar, the electric sunroof, the motorized tailgate with access with loaded arms and the Black Perla Nera roof.
Both specifications are available in five colours: Pearl White, Crystal Pearl, Perla Nera Black, Night Flight and a colour specific to N°4 called Cashmere.
Two versions of 19” wheels have been specially developed for the new E-TENSE version: Lausanne as standard on PALLAS and Zürich as an option on PALLAS and standard on ÉTOILE.
