Kia America Reports 12 Percent Year Over Year Sales Growth in July

Kia America Posts Strong July Sales as SUVs and EVs Drive Growth
Kia America sold 71,123 vehicles in July, up 12% from the same month last year, with retail sales climbing 9%. Electrified models rose 14% year-on-year, while SUVs grew 12%, continuing a trend of double-digit monthly gains.
The newly launched 2026 EV9 posted 1,737 sales, a 90% increase over June, with the EV6 and Niro EV also maintaining solid momentum. Several key models achieved double-digit growth over July 2024, including the Soul (+36%), Carnival (+30%), K5 (+25%), Telluride (+15%), Sportage (+14%) and Sorento (+11%). Carnival, Sportage and Telluride each set new July sales records.

“Kia is steadily progressing toward its highest annual sales record and an all-time high market share,” said Eric Watson, vice-president of sales operations. “As our SUV lineup maintains double-digit growth month after month, we are fostering strong connections between our customers and our vehicles.”
The company also announced several initiatives:
- The opening of the Kia Connected Home™ display at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, showcasing how the EV9’s vehicle-to-home (V2H) capability can power homes during outages or peak energy use.
- A new two-part ad campaign for the 2026 Sportage, highlighting its updated design and road-trip appeal.
- A $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross to support flood relief in Texas, in collaboration with Central Texas Kia Dealers.
Year-to-date sales stand at 487,634 units, up from 450,040 in the same period last year, with the Sportage, Sorento, and Telluride among the strongest performers.
