Dad-to-Be Turns Passion for Sneakers and Travel into Income: A Profitable eBay Selling Case Study
Miles Fajembola (30) entered 2024 with big plans; he’s expecting a baby with his wife, looking to renovate his house, wants to travel to more countries, and has just celebrated his 30th birthday in Miami. As he kicked off the new year, he began thinking of ways he could make a bit of extra money to fund the coming months and milestone life moments.
Miles has always been a fan of eBay, selling everything from trending sneakers and clothes to electronics and photography equipment. Over the years he’s boosted his bank balance by £1000s, helping him fund huge events like his wedding and his first house purchase. In 2023 he made a total of £655 from selling pre-loved and unused items from around his home. He’s recently upped his selling game in preparation for the year, making a massive £417 over the last three months.
Looking ahead, Miles has an array of products he’s planning to sell on eBay. From a Canada Goose gilet to an Essentials sweater and Stone Island jumper, he’s excited to see how much he can make from these big brand items. In addition to his fashion pieces, he’s also got a used Neewer light and Elgato Stream Deck Mini.
A huge sneaker fan, he’s also got a pair of limited-edition Nike x Jacquemus sneakers on his radar to sell. In fact, Miles uses eBay to fund his impressive sneaker collection, selling old pairs on the platform to buy new pairs from the latest drops. He’s currently waiting on new sneaker announcements to see what he could buy with the money made from his Nike x Jacquemus sneakers, both for pairs for him and his pending new addition who he is keen to pass his sneaker obsession.
A self-proclaimed lover of eBay, Miles enjoys giving his items a new lease of life, passing on the joy of using them to other people, so that he can go after his own goals and passions for 2024. He particularly enjoys the auction aspect of selling on eBay, starting at £1 to get shoppers’ attention and waiting to see how high the bids go.
Miles said: “I’ve been using eBay for many years now, it’s the first place I turn to when I need to make a bit of money. I’ve got big plans for 2024, there’s a lot I want to achieve, and making that little bit extra on eBay goes a long way. I’ve actually just been on a dream trip to Miami and my eBay sales helped to make that possible. I find it so satisfying to sell pre-loved items from around my home to help fund my passions and goals, no matter how big or small. My upcoming sales will go towards upgrading my wardrobe, but also help my partner and I get ready for the birth of our baby, we’re buying sneakers for them too!”
