HAIKOU , China , April 19, 2025 /JamNewsWire/ — A report from HIMC:
On April 13, the fifth China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) opened in Haikou , capital of
Hainan Province . This year, more than 1,700 companies from over 70 countries and regions showcased more than 4,100 brands at the event.

“The Hainan Expo gave me an idea of the enormous potential of the Chinese consumer market,” says Ramel François Félix, CEO of Vignerons du Castelas, who is participating in the CICPE for the fifth consecutive time. Over the past four years, he has met with over 100 Chinese business partners at the Expo, which has greatly boosted his business.

As the only thematic event on consumer products at the national level, the show demonstrates that China has a huge market advantage, which makes its participation very attractive.

Over 4,100 brands from 70 countries joined the 5th CICPE in Hainan, highlighting China’s vast consumer market and generating over 150 billion yuan in transaction deals.

This year’s expo features several notable differences. Exhibition groups from Slovakia, Singapore, Brazil, and several other countries participated for the first time; special exhibition areas for AI and the low-lying economy were created; and a model for matching supply and demand was implemented for the first time, with an online pre-approach and in-depth in-person negotiations.

By April 16, halfway through the expo, a total of 150 billion yuan ($20.56 billion) in transaction agreements had been reached, including 52 project agreements signed at three official supply-demand matching meetings. Twenty of these were signed at country-specific sessions, with Chinese and international exhibitors reaching agreements covering a wide range of procurement projects and transactions.

Hainan also saw a large number of new orders and collaboration agreements at this year’s expo , including numerous project agreements in the fields of autonomous driving, intelligent transportation infrastructure, and smart travel services.

Unitree Robotics, from Hangzhou , exhibited various robotic products and received many orders from Hainan for items related to university scientific research, public security patrols and other fields.

Fosun Tourism Group has announced that ULTRAMED, a major tourism and cultural project, will open in Haitang Bay, Sanya.

A true spirit of openness reigned both inside and outside the site.

Unlike in the past, many international exhibitors and buyers no longer need to apply for a visa to participate, thanks to Hainan ‘s visa exemption policy for 59 countries and bilateral and unilateral visa exemption policies applicable at the national level, which allow travelers from 77 countries to enter Hainan without a visa.

In Hainan , special management measures for cross-border trade in services and improved market access for foreign investment have been implemented. The province is also accelerating the exploration and establishment of a coordinated model for access to domestic and international investment tailored to the unique conditions of the Hainan Port Free Trade Zone .

This year, special customs operations will be implemented in the free trade port zone. “The benefits of Hainan ‘s institutional opening will become increasingly accessible, which will increase investment opportunities. William Huang , managing partner of EY China South, believes that thanks to the opportunities provided by the CICPE and the favorable development conditions of the Hainan free trade port zone , more multinational companies will strengthen their presence in Hainan .
