Woman Confesses her DOG is her ‘Soulmate’ as New Study Reveals Brits love their Pooches MORE than their Partners

As a new study has revealed some Brits love their dogs more than their partners, a woman has shared that her pooch trumps her love life – even turning down men if her pet doesn’t approach.

The research found that 40% of dog owners confessed they tell their furry companions that they love them more than their significant other.

Meanwhile almost a quarter (23%) claimed they rarely buy gifts for their partners besides special occasions – but are happy to spend up to £266 when it comes to purchasing a gift for their pup, regardless of whether it’s an occasion or not.

The study – released today (7 February) by Rover.com – rang true for one dog owner in particular.

Yasmin El-Saie says her 12-year-old Chihuahua, Chilli, has the final say on her dating life and she puts the pooch above all others.

“Chilli is the love of my life,” the 45-year-old digital creator and holistic practitioner, from London, told jamnewswire.com.

“He showers me with unconditional love.

“I have turned down men because Chilli didn’t like them and I would do it again.

“Years ago I was dating a very attractive young man whom I really fancied.

“We went on some dates and the time eventually came where he was going to meet Chilli but the minute that happened I was concerned – Chilli was very weary of the guy, unsure and almost a bit scared.

“Chilli didn’t take to this guy at all – it was not a match made in heaven, actually a total mismatch and I stopped seeing that person.

“I wasn’t sure of our compatibility from the start and basically Chilli totally agreed!

“I wouldn’t even begin going out with a man who doesn’t like Chilli, there’s absolutely no point.

“Chilli is my soulmate and bestie and we spend all of our time together.”

Yasmin, who adopted the pup 12 years ago when he was eight weeks old, says it was “love at first sight” when they met.

Now, she lets her pooch take full control, with the Chihuahua vetting all potential suitors.

She added: “I trust both of our instincts and it would surprise me if we are far off of each other’s impressions.

“There are some factors which I believe are a bit more primal, such as protection, guarding, and survival, and these can be seen in perspective – but if his guarding doesn’t change or there is fear present, that’s a red flag for me.

“So, I’m sorry to say fellas, yes Chilli is the most important person in my life.

“But I am still hoping to find a human love as beautiful & unconditional as the connection I have with Chilli.

“I haven’t given up on love!”
