The large crowd has gathered in droves around the Italian brand’s stand to admire the New Ypsilon, available in Hybrid and Electric versions, and the bold Ypsilon Rally 4 HF, a symbol of Lancia’s return to the rally world. Moreover, the public gave an equally warm reception to Lancia CEO Luca Napolitano and rally legend Miki Biasion, the star of the press conference held on January 10th.

On the occasion reserved for the international press and industry professionals, Lancia’s top manager reflected on the brand’s Renaissance, i.e., the strategic plan launched in 2021 which allowed the brand to make a prestigious return to the European premium market. In particular, Napolitano pointed how the brand has kept all of the promises it has made, starting with last April’s launch of the first vehicle of the Lancia’s new era: the New Ypsilon, which continues to be warmly received wherever it goes.

Luca Napolitano stated: “Our Renaissance is moving swiftly ahead and 2025 will be a critical year for our roadmap. It will mark both Lancia’s return to motorsport, with goal of reestablishing a presence in today’s motorsport competitions, and the debut of the 280-HP New Ypsilon HF halfway through the year, which will relaunch the haloed HF name and later show up on the Lancia Gamma with the “HF Integrale” label. Speaking of the new flagship, we can confirm that, starting in 2026, it will be produced at the iconic Melfi plant, one of the Stellantis Group’s finest production facilities. In short, Lancia is looking toward the future with passion and ambition, constantly raising the bar for our next achievements.”

Undoubtedly, the highlight of the first day was the arrival of Miki Biasion on the Lancia stand. Warmly received by the public and press, the two-time world champ did the honor of inaugurating the new Ypsilon Rally 4 HF which features a 212-HP, 1.2 Turbo engine, a SADEV 5-speed gearbox, and adjustable Ohiln shock absorbers. Furthermore, the finetuning of this race car was supported by this genuine motorsport legend, who forged an unbreakable bond with Lancia in the 1980s and 90s, becoming the winningest Italian driver in history.

A visibly moved Miki Biasion stated: “If you dreamt of track as a child, you dreamt of the red of a Ferrari. However, if you dreamt of becoming a rally driver, then you dreamt of Lancia. I am honored to have worked together with the Lancia and Stellantis Motorsport teams in fine-tuning the Ypsilon Rally 4 HF. Not to mention that this race car will give a real opportunity to young emerging talents in the Lancia Trophy, which features six races in the 2025 Italian Rally Championship and €300,000 in prize money. The Lancia legacy of victories and racing is back and I am happy to be a part of it.”

Meanwhile, the brand continues its internationalization process which includes an initial network of 70 new showrooms and 150 service points in the most strategic European cities. The first markets involved are France, Spain, Belgium-Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and, by 2025, Germany. Furthermore, the renovation phase came to a close last year in Italy at the 160 Casa Lancia, the exclusive showrooms featuring the brand’s new corporate identity, which reflects the four pillars at the foundation of its strategic plan: quality, electrification, sustainability, and an innovative sales model.

The Brussels Motor Show will continue until January 19th, giving everyone the chance to take a look up close at the allure and performance of Lancia’s vehicles. The Belgian event has allowed the brand to once again demonstrate how it continues to be an icon of style, innovation, and sportiness which has been able to make entire generations of people around the globe dream.
