IHG’s Vignette Collection Surpasses 50 Hotels as Conversion Trend Grows
London, 26 November 2024: IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is celebrating the momentum of Vignette Collection as it reaches 50+ open and pipeline properties. Just three years after the brand’s introduction to IHG’s leading luxury and lifestyle portfolio, the collection brand has surpassed the halfway point in its initial aim to reach 100 open and pipeline hotels in 10 years.
Launched in 2021, Vignette Collection is IHG’s first collection brand and represents a curation of distinct hotels, demonstrating diversity and discovery. Vignette Collection combines each property’s individual identity with the brand’s promise of ‘A Means For Good’ and Memorable Rituals. The brand offers a compelling way for owners of one-of-a-kind hotels to benefit from IHG’s powerful enterprise offering and global scale.

Today, there are 19 Vignette Collection hotels open around the world with a further 34 in the pipeline* that will mark brand debuts in markets such as Japan, Vietnam and The Maldives.

Some of the incredible Vignette Collection properties that have recently opened their doors or will start welcoming guests in the coming months include:
- CIEL Tower, Dubai: Ciel Tower, Vignette Collection is a multistorey high-rise hotel and will set a new global benchmark as the world’s tallest hotel with 80-plus floors based in Dubai Marina. With construction rapidly advancing and the building already topped out, the award-winning property will have over 1,000 rooms and suites, three restaurants, Dubai’s highest infinity pool, fitness center, spa, club lounge, and observation bar & lounge, with uninterrupted views of Palm Jumeirah, the Arabian Gulf and the Dubai skyline. The hotel is set to complete in 2025 and will become an iconic hotel in the collection. Vignette Collection continues to grow in the Middle East where within the next five years there will be in excess of 3,000 rooms, spanning more than 7 open and pipeline hotels.
- Shanghai Snow World Hotel: Within one of the world’s largest and most technically advanced indoor snow and ice venues, Shanghai Snow World Hotel, Vignette Collection will offer 272 rooms and 17 suites with direct access to the ski-slopes. The hotel will offer a harmonious blend of dynamic and tranquil experiences, inspired by the Nordic lifestyle and forms part of the hotly anticipated Shanghai Yaoxue Snow World Complex. Located only 30km from Shanghai Disney and Pudong Airport, the integrated sports-entertainment tourism complex will feature three main ski runs and an elaborate winter-themed snow play park providing a wide variety of activities for all age groups over multiple floors of the 60m high venue.
- RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka: RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka, Vignette Collection is one of the city’s oldest and most sought-after hotels for royalty, foreign dignitaries, celebrities, and VIP guests. With around 90 years of history and an enviable location in Nakanoshima, an island in the Dojima river in central Osaka, the RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka features an impressive 1,039 guest rooms, 18 restaurants and bars, 56 ballrooms, banquet halls and meeting spaces, wedding facilities, pools, fitness centres and retail outlets. It will relaunch as RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka, Vignette Collection in 2025, following an extensive refurbishment and repositioning by IHG.
- Noku Maldives: Noku Maldives, Vignette Collection, a 50-room private villa resort open on the island of Kudafunafaru. The resort is a 45-minute seaplane ride from Male International Airport or a 40-minute flight to Maafaru domestic airport, followed by a 15-minute speed boat ride to the island. With a land area of almost 90,000 square metres, Noku Maldives features 30 overwater villas and 20 beachfront villas, most of which have a private pool. With the smallest villa at 175 square metres, Noku Maldives, Vignette Collection some of the largest villas in the Maldives. Facilities include two restaurants and bars, outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, retail outlet and a diving and watersports centre offering access to marine life, including grey reef sharks, stingrays and sea turtles.
- Hotel Franciscana: Formerly known as El Gran Encomendero & The Gwendolyn – The brand will continue its expansion across the Americas with the opening of Hotel Franciscana in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, which will become the first branded hotel in the historic town of Valladolid, and The Gwendolyn, located in the heart of Oregon’s famed Willamette Valley wine region.
IHG’s Luxury and Lifestyle portfolio has grown significantly in recent years and currently includes 6 brands, over 500 hotels and a pipeline of over 350 hotels.
