Stellantis Heritage Shines at Milano Autoclassica with Iconic Alfa Romeo Display

Alfa Romeo 33 “Iguana”
Belonging to the Stellantis Heritage collection and housed at the Alfa Romeo Historical Museum in Arese, the fascinating Alfa Romeo 33 “Iguana” is a unique example presented at the Turin motor show in November 1969, a creation of the world-renowned designer Giorgetto Giugiaro.
The iguana concept car reinterprets a high-performance coupé on the mechanical base of the 33 Stradale, featuring an extremely sharp front end, taut, defined lines, a sleek and minimalist Alfa Romeo “shield,” a highly slanted, wide windshield, an adjustable rear spoiler, and a simple, linear interior design. The car body boasts a distinctive, very bright metallic hue. The Campagnolo alloy wheels with elliptical holes, which is an obvious reference to the 33 Stradale, complete a design that, at the time, anticipated the style of the 1970s.
1750 Spider Veloce
Until the 1960s, Alfa Romeo Spiders were essentially an “uncovered” version of hatchback or coupe models, but it was at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966 that Alfa Romeo presented a Spider so original that it was considered completely detached from any other model in production at the time. In 1966, the “1600 Spider” was born, characterized by a lenticular shape, harmoniously exaggerated to the point of resembling a cuttlefish bone, all contained within a rounded, enveloping form. However, such shapes were nothing new for an Alfa Romeo Spider, a great deal of curiosity and interest had been sparked 14 years earlier by the presentation of the 1900 C 52 spider, known as the “Disco Volante.” But the spotlight on the Spider (informally known as the “Duetto”) had only just begun to shine. From America, a young Dustin Hoffman arrived on the big screens of Italy driving a red Duetto, exuberantly driven on the set of the film “The Graduate” to the sounds of “Mrs. Robinson” by Simon & Garfunkel. The success of the film and the car was so great that a special edition of the Spider was named the “Graduate” in America, referring to the same name of the film. The heir to the “Duetto” was the 1750 Spider Veloce, presented in 1967: it retained all the features of the “1600,” except for the engine, which had been enlarged to 1779 cubic centimeters, boosting the power to 114 horsepower and a top speed of 190 km/h. The model shown at Milano AutoClassica is a perfect example of a work-in-progress restoration : the Officine Alfa Romeo Classic Classiche of Stellantis Heritage department are carefully restoring this fascinating car, faithfully maintaining all the original characteristics and requirements, to return to the lucky owner not just a car, but a dream on four wheels.
Alfa Romeo 4C Superbike
The spotlight is on the Alfa Romeo 4C supercar, which, thanks to its extraordinary dynamic qualities, was chosen in 2014 as the Safety Car of the SBK Superbike World Championship.
After all, the Alfa Romeo 4C is an uncompromising vehicle that gives its best precisely on the track where speed, short braking distances, and transverse acceleration are fundamental for achieving top-notch lap times: 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds flat 258 km/h top speed, deceleration peaks in the order of 1.2 g and lateral acceleration peaks of over 1.1 g. These remarkable results are achieved through optimal weight distribution, an extraordinary power-to-weight ratio of under 4 kg/HP, and a dry weight of only 895 kg.
The outstanding performance is also achieved thanks to the combination of the 240 hp 1750 Turbo Benzine with the ‘Alfa TCT’ dry double-clutch transmission and the advanced Alfa D.N.A. selector with a unique Race mode. Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale

The same ingredients with which the car considered by many to be one of the most beautiful ever was born in 1967: the 33 Stradale. Nowadays, with the same audacity and vision, the Alfa Romeo team has conceived and developed the new 33 Stradale, an authentic work of art in motion, created through the perfect fusion of beauty and engineering. Produced in only 33 exclusive examples, with a unique handcrafted process, the new “two dry seats” coupé blends the heritage and future of the brand, a symbol of noble Italian sportiness. Its aim is to offer the most thrilling driving experience and the timeless appeal of an icon to an exclusive group of enthusiasts who have believed in the project from the very beginning. The new 33 Stradale was born in the newly established Alfa Romeo “Bottega,” where designers, engineers, and brand historians first listened to potential buyers and then brought it to life together, just as in the artisanal workshops of the Renaissance or the studios of renowned Italian coachbuilders in the 1960s.
Alfa Romeo Junior
At the “Milano AutoClassica” exhibition, the public can admire a model of the 136 HP Junior Hybrid, marked by a refined blue livery on which stands out the three-hole alloy wheels and the new reinterpretation of the “Leggenda” emblem, highlighting the iconic and sporty design of this authentic cool piece that creates an immediate emotional connection with the driver. The new version features a 136 HP 48V Hybrid VGT (Variable Geometry Turbo) architecture.
This model offers an exceptionally smooth driving experience and enables electric mode for over 50% of city driving; it supports electric driving not only for parking maneuvers or low-speed city driving but also on extra-urban routes under low-load conditions at speeds up to 150 km/h. The compact sports car marks the return of the brand in the B segment, with the most complete commercial offer in the segment: a 136 HP hybrid version, the only vehicle in the premium compact class which will soon debut in an all-wheel-drive Q4 variant with automated rear-axle management, and a full-electric version with a 54-kWh battery available in two power levels (156 HP and the top-of-the-line VELOCE with 240 HP).
