Hyundai Builds Momentum for Road America After Strong Podium Finish at CTMP

Hyundai Eyes Sixth Straight IMSA Title as Elantra N TCR Heads to Road America
Hyundai Motor America is poised to continue its dominant run in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge as it heads to Wisconsin’s iconic Road America track for the Road America 120 race on August 2. With five races remaining in the 2025 season, Hyundai is firmly in pursuit of a sixth consecutive Manufacturers’ Championship.
The team arrives with momentum following a resilient performance at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), where the No. 99 Victor Gonzalez Racing Team (VGRT) Elantra N TCR, driven by Eric Powell and Tyler Gonzalez, overcame race-day adversity to claim a podium finish. Despite a multi-car incident and a late tire puncture affecting key Bryan Herta Autosport (BHA) entries, Hyundai secured critical championship points.
Road America’s 4.048-mile layout, featuring long straights, sweeping turns, and dramatic elevation changes, suits the performance strengths of the Elantra N TCR. The BHA squad, which fields multiple top contenders, will aim to capitalize on this advantage, building on a season that has already seen the No. 98 and No. 76 Elantra N TCRs share the lead in the driver standings with 1,780 points each.

Adding to its firepower, BHA will debut a fifth entry—the No. 18 Elantra N TCR driven by Jon Miller and Lance Bergstein—for the final four races of the season, beginning at Road America.
Off the track, Hyundai will continue its community outreach efforts with the Rally Round event on September 13 at the Milwaukee Mile Speedway, part of its Hyundai Hope On Wheels initiative. The event supports pediatric cancer awareness and will feature a handprint ceremony with Wisconsin Children’s Hospital.
Hyundai leads the TCR Manufacturers’ Standings with 2,040 points, ahead of Honda and Audi. As the championship race intensifies, the brand remains focused on both competitive excellence and community impact.
The Road America 120 will air live on Peacock at 2:05 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 2.
