Willamette Valley Vineyards Named Best Tasting Room in the Nation for Second Year

Willamette Valley Vineyards has been crowned the best tasting room in the United States by USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for the second consecutive year, underscoring the winery’s enduring appeal and leadership in hospitality and culinary innovation.

The Salem Hills-based Estate Tasting Room offers more than just wine sampling. Visitors are invited into a welcoming space with panoramic vineyard views and can choose from classic tasting flights, tableside experiences or curated food pairings. Each option is designed to showcase the winery’s commitment to sustainable, locally sourced ingredients and exceptional service.

“When you walk into our tasting rooms, the vibrancy and passion are palpable,” said CEO Mike Osborn. “One of the main contributing factors to our continued hospitality success is our unique and intricate culinary program.”

Spearheading that program is Chef DJ MacIntyre, Wine & Culinary Director, who draws from Oregon’s seasonal bounty to create dishes like wild steelhead and truffle-forward fare, crafted specifically to complement the wines. With over 75 bottlings across Oregon’s AVAs—including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and sparkling wines made at the Demeter-certified Domaine Willamette—the winery is known for its diversity and quality.

Designed to be inclusive and educational, the Estate Tasting Room aims to make wine exploration accessible to all, from newcomers to seasoned collectors. The winery’s unique model of community ownership—powered by over 27,000 shareholders—reinforces its mission to democratize wine, land and legacy.

Willamette Valley Vineyards’ Wine Club also earned recognition, placing #2 nationally for the second year. The club offers six membership tiers, including customizable monthly options and exclusive access to limited releases, complimentary tastings and private events.

Founded in 1983 by Jim Bernau with a vision of producing world-class Pinot Noir while preserving the land, the winery now operates over 1,000 sustainable acres and has expanded to nine tasting rooms across Oregon, Washington and California. All vineyards are certified through LIVE and Salmon-Safe programs, highlighting the winery’s continued dedication to environmental stewardship.
