BMW Motorrad Presents “The Speed Sisters” by WOIDWERK: A Celebration of Female Bikers

BMW Motorrad debuts custom ‘Speed Sisters’ by WOIDWERK at 2025 Garmisch event
Two striking custom builds based on BMW’s R 12 and R 18 cruisers stole the spotlight at BMW Motorrad Days 2025 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Under the banner “The Speed Sisters,” Ralf Eggl of WOIDWERK unveiled a pair of motorcycles that fuse technical precision with bold design and Bavarian flair.
Conceived as a stylistic sibling duo—“sisters, not twins”—the project showcases the contrasting characters of the BMW R 12 and R 18. The R 12 takes on a sporty, agile identity with bobber-inspired lines and a minimalist rear. It features a raised chassis, sportier ergonomics, and custom elements including a 3D-printed Alcantara tank cover and deep-black Hattech exhaust with ceramic coating. Elegant Kellermann Jetstream indicators and tailored paintwork complete its sleek look.

The R 18, meanwhile, channels confidence and power with a dynamically reshaped silhouette. A narrowed, elevated tank, floating seat, and handcrafted “Targa hoop” emphasize its dominant profile. The bike is equipped with high-performance braking components from the BMW R 1300 GS and a suite of custom-made, CNC-milled and 3D-printed parts—down to the swingarm-mounted lighting and license plate holder.

Both bikes share a color concept inspired by the Bavarian Forest: a ¾ white, ¼ green scheme symbolising the region’s famously long winters. The green-tinted fairing screens and matching accents add a creative, regional twist.

Unveiled to enthusiastic crowds, “The Speed Sisters” quickly became a highlight of the event. “His style blends local craftsmanship with technical sophistication,” said Roland Stocker, Project Manager Heritage BMW Motorrad. “Ralf Eggl gives the two cruisers a new, authentic expression.”
Eggl, founder of WOIDWERK, has earned acclaim for his handcrafted BMW-based builds, grounded in deep regional roots and distinctive design. With “The Speed Sisters,” he reinforces customising as not just a stylistic endeavor but a passionate statement of creativity and identity.
